V:one sunglasses have been designed with the pilot in mind. We have pioneered sunglasses with technology that is beneficial to pilots while avoiding features that are not recommended for flying.
As a pilot, your eyes are your most valuable instrument and they need to be protected. During flight your eyes are exposed to high levels of harmful UV rays and blue light. V:one lenses provide 100% UV protection and have also been engineered to block out the majority of blue light – offering your eyes the best possible protection. Our quality sun lenses provide exceptional optical clarity, and reduce glare and enhance colour contrast, resulting in excellent visibility both inside and outside the aircraft. What's more - our large lenses cover your full field of vision - ensuring your eyes are protected from every angle.
V:one sunglasses are extremely comfortable to wear. The lightweight metal frames incorporate thin sidearms and slender rubber temple tips, engineered to minimise blind spots in your peripheral vision while fitting snugly under a headset.
V:one sunglasses are fitted with high quality lenses that have excellent retention and are extremely comfortable on the eye.
V:one lenses use the latest technology to maintain advanced optical clarity while ensuring your eyes are protected both in the air and on the ground.
Anti Reflective treatment This superior optical clarity is enhanced with our 5 layer anti-reflective coating. This coating reduces internal reflections on the back of the lens while absorbing bounce back glare, improving an already excellent visual performance and reducing fatigue on your eyes.
Impact and Scratch resistant V:one lenses are not only designed with optical precision but they are also built to withstand tough treatment – Our polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant and scratch resistant offering excellent protection indoors and outdoors.
Clarity and comfort The solid brown tint which is a key aspect of the V:one lens cuts out 100% UVA and UVB and approximately 96% of blue light. Blue light is not only harmful but it can also cause blurring in your vision - by limiting the levels of blue light our lenses improve visual clarity, reduce glare and increase colour contrast, making wearing our sunglasses a uniquely comfortable experience.
Please note We have also ensured that certain lens features, such as photochromatic and polarised lenses are not used in our lenses as these are not recommended for pilots.
All our lenses provide 100% UV protection blocking UVA and UVB transmittance and comply with the specifications and safety requirements of both the European standards (EU directive 89/686/ and EN:1836-2005) and the Australian standard (AS/NZS 1067:2003) which is one of the strictest safety standards in the world.
